Picture it. New Orleans. 2020. Two women are driving home and are incredibly high.

It was a dark and silent night. Normally the city would be abuzz with people, but COVID and an impending hurricane had most hunkered inside.

“Excuse me,” a very startled looking man said. He had been hobbling down the middle of an intersection with his brow furrowed. Now he stood on the neutral ground (median) next to an electric blue hatchback that was standing at a red light.

“Excuse me,” the man said again. The two women, who had been holding a conversation about nothing in particular, instantly stopped talking. They both avoided eye contact with the sweaty man with bulging eyes. His left hand held an oddly shaped bag with his right one wielding a black mystery item.

“What did I do wrong?” He asked. The two women who had been avoiding eye contact looked directly at the ailing man.

He stepped closer to the car.

The red light refused to change.

“What did I do wrong to get killed?”

He seemed fine physically, but something was clearly wrong mentally. He had an extreme look of worry on his face as if he really believed he had been killed.

“What the fuck?” The driver yelled. She stomped on the accelerator gunning it through the red light.

The two women instantly started laughing. Their giggles morphed into peels of belly jiggling mirth that literally went on for 5 minutes.

Well, maybe not literally. Time moves differently when you’re high.
